...I know I have multiple posts with this same title, but can you blame me? It is the most critical and essential moment of my day!
Ever since Susie started falling asleep on her own (in her crib) she has been a fantastic napper! She almost never fails to sleep for atleast 1 1/2 hours--and often more--in both of her naps each day. Tyler, on the other hand, never took a good afternoon nap when he still was on the 2 naps-a-day schedule and usually maxed out around 40 minutes in that second nap. Susie has also never protested naps. Tyler went in and out of stages of screaming his head off when we would lay him in his crib. Napping is one skill that Susie is much better at than Tyler.
Tyler hardly ever takes naps anymore. Instead he just yells from his room, "Mom! Mom! Mom!" Naptime has turned into playtime. This is fine with me because he sleeps much longer at night and goes to sleep much more quickly at bedtime. Susie's afternoon naptime today, however, was the first time I've had a difficult time getting her to go to sleep. She has finally learned how to go from laying to sitting. She kept sitting up in her crib (this was a first). Then, she started trying to climb out! Her arms kept getting stuck in the slats. But, we still had the mattress at the bassinet level, and it made me nervous that she really might climb out! I actually ended up setting up the pack-n-play for her to nap in. She eventually fell asleep in it, thankfully, but I had to lower her mattress before bedtime.
We never, ever had a problem with Tyler trying to climb out of the crib. Even as he got older, he never attempted to get out. We only moved him into a big boy bed to make room for the new baby! Susie, on the other hand, is already trying to climb out! I'm afraid she has freedom on her mind and will eventually learn to climb out.
