For Susie's 1st Birthday (yet to come on the 30th) we gave her a sand and water activity table. I brought it out a little early because we are about to embark on a road trip to Utah and I didn't want to wait until we returned to set it up. I was surprised by how much she enjoyed it. I still need to put sand in it. At first I thought I was just going to use all water or all sand instead of dealing with the mess. Then, I was reading a review about this particular table and the person wrote that if you are going to buy one of these things, you need to let go of your obsessive-compulsive cleanliness and let the kids enjoy the table with both sand and water. And, even let them mix the two together because that is what will make it the most fun. The comment really hit me and I intend on letting them make a big mess with it. That's what it is outside for, right?
Susie had lots of fun splashing. This is the first time I have seen her interacting and playing along side other children besides Tyler. It was fun to have a toy that she likes just as much as the older kids. Oh boy did she get wet! I ended up stripping her down because she kept dumping water on herself. And, she loved when the other kids dribbled water on her as well! She was full of grins like the one in the picture below while she played.

I have never heard of a sand and water table. How fun! Looks and sounds like Suzie had the time of her life.
OH SO FUN!!! I bet Jackson would love this! I've never ever heard of a table like this. I'm glad to hear you are letting your obsessive cleanliness guard down and letting this kids have so fun! That's a hard one to conquer...I am really bad at this with Jackson and anything messy!
SO with water and sand is it really mud or what? Are you going to get beach sand or dirt? I think you are a awesome mom. Your sister told me you don't like the Princess Bride-- I think you should watch it again and give it another chance... what do you think? Worst case-- you hate it for sure, best case-- not such a bad movie after all. The book is wonderful-- maybe you would liek the book? hee hee
