Reality has finally hit. We are leaving. March 20th is moving day. We are headed to Utah and Kevin will start school at the University of Utah in May. Today was our last day at church. We have been in this ward longer than any other ward in our married lives (2 1/2 years). It is sad to say goodbye, but I know that it is for the better. They spotlighted Tyler in Primary today for his last day. His answers to the spotlight questions were very cute. Here is a sampling of them:
My favorite candy bar is chocolate.
My favorite place to visit is earth.
My favorite holiday is Christmas.
My favorite game is Lightning McQueen Video Game.
My favorite person in the scriptures is Jesus.
My hero is Green Man (don't know who this is...and he claims his real hero is Lightning McQueen).
When I grow up, I want to be an Army Man.
Something special about me is I'm smart.
We have been saying goodbye to our friends. Below is a picture of me with my best friend and neighbor Brandie. She means a lot to me and has saved me from many boring, long days. We have been packing like crazy since last Tuesday. Our house is filled with loads of boxes and shrink wrapped furniture. We are so exhausted. Three more full days to pack, clean, and prepare for the move!

Good luck Ames! I am glad you are coming to Utah, even though I know it is really hard to leave somewhere and start all over. Good luck with the move and the packing.
It actually makes me very teary to think of you guys leaving California. After reading this post I think I finally figured out why. One, it seems like you guys have really enjoyed your home/neighborhood with friends etc. Secondly (and ties to the first idea), it makes me sad to think of Tyler missing his friends and being worried about them move. And the great friendship you have created with Brandie. And third, it makes me sad to think we have no real reason to visit this area. With you moving and Grandpa Martin passing away there really isn't a connection, other than a lot of good memories (of visiting you guys or my grandparents. We have spent quite a bit of time in this area). I am VERY excited to have you guys here with us for the summer, but I just get a little sad when I think of all the great things that have happened for you guys and the fun memories that I have of being there. Good Luck with the final packing and driving here. I sure know Jackson (aka me) is going to love having some entertainment around. Hurry fast...Tyler and Susie!
Hope the move is safe and the next adventures even better! It will be cool to have your blog to lok back at yers from now and remember the great years spent in CA:)
Hi Amy,
I know life must be crazy for you and your family right now, but I wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you and know that this move will bring great things, even though it is difficult to leave behind many great years in Cali. Take care and talk to you next once you are settled in Utah.
Post some photos once you get settled! Primary was not the same on Sunday without Tyler (my favorite little singer)!! We miss you :)
