All About Susie

For those who don't know Susie too well, there are two separate and distinct sides to her personality. She is such a fun-loving, giggly, smiley, easily excited girl. She loves to be held and she is definitely partial to her mommy and daddy (I actually think she is becoming more of a daddy's girl lately--she always asks for him when she wakes up). On the flip side, she is very independent, determined, and down-right feisty. She has her opinions, and is easily upset when she doesn't get her way. She truly is my teenage drama queen, and she isn't even 2 yet. But, we love her very much!

On June 19th, Susie will have tubes put in her ears (an operation which has been a long time coming). Maybe tubes will reduce the pressure in her ears and her screaming will subside, or maybe her screaming is completely just a part of her nature. We'll see. All I know is we are a little apprehensive about the surgery. However, the outcome, zero to maybe one ear infection in a year is well worth the alternative--she has had 7 ear infections in the last 8 months. This means she has been on 7 antibiotics. Her ears, although free of infection as of Friday, are still overflowing with fluid and the pressure is very high. I know the tubes will make her feel a million times better.
