Today was surgery day. It went very well. I woke up at 5:30 in order to get Susie and me out of the house by 6:30. We arrived at the surgery center at 7:20--a few minutes late because I had trouble finding the address. They admitted us very quickly. Susie was given a pink teddy bear t-shirt (to keep) and some hideously large socks. The socks caused problems. They were too big and kept falling off, which upset Susie. At about 8, the anesthesiologist took Susie away and she didn't cry at all! I can't imagine she didn't cry in the surgery room, but at least I didn't have to hear it. At this point, I went back to the waiting room. About 20-25 minutes later a nurse came and got me, and I was able to be with Susie in the recovery room while she woke up. Waking up was the hardest part of the morning. She had a hard time recovering from the anesthesia. She cried and cried for at least 15 minutes. I honestly thought she might cry for a good hour or two (given her track record). The first thing she said--while grabbing her ears--was "Ouchy! Ouchy!" But, the anesthesia wore off, she perked up, and we were able to leave after consuming some juice, fishy crackers, and a popsicle! We even got a fun souvenir to take home--the shirt. When we got home, Tyler and Jackson gave Susie some "Get Well" cards. Jackson gave Susie some cute butterfly bows made by Michelle. And Tyler wrote in his card all by himself, "Susie I love you Tyler". It was so cute and further reminded me of how sharp my little boy is! Michelle told him the letters to write, but that was all. Since coming home, Susie has been a happy child. You wouldn't even think she had surgery today.

Cute scoozie! I love you! I'm glad she is doing better.
I am SO glad that everything went well. I am sure it was a pretty stressful day (I know I would be) Hopefully having the tubs in will really help her.
