Happy Halloween!

We had so much fun for Halloween this year. Unfortunately, we decided to not buy the cute Buzz Lightyear and Little Bo Peep (from Toy Story) costumes to save on money. I'll admit I was a bit heart broken. Especially because all Tyler ever wants to be is a boring sports player. He was actually excited to be Buzz Lightyear--which is a first. Instead, I easily talked them into wearing some costumes we already owned. Tyler was very happy to be a soccer player. Once I suggested a soccer player, he wouldn't have gone back to the Buzz Lightyear costume anyway. Susie was planning on being the same princess from last year and was even excited about it. Luckily for me, Aunt Michelle made her a very cute tutu. We had three different events to attend--a church carnival, school parade, and of course, trick-or-treating. The first night, Susie wore only the tutu. For the school parade, I talked her into being a kitty cat. I was dying to put kitty face paint on her, and I think she looked adorable! She especially loved it. She decided for trick-or-treating she would be both a ballerina and a kitty cat. So, we ended up with an adorable kitty cat ballerina. I guess that's what happens when you just pull stuff together from home. The best part of Halloween night was when Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head (a.k.a. Ryan and Brittney) showed up at our door-step. Such fun costumes!

We also had a blast carving pumpkins this year. At first, Susie refused to gut her pumpkin. But we insisted. We told her she wouldn't get anymore pumpkins after this year if she didn't start gutting them herself. That was enough of a threat, and she went to work. It was so much fun to see the two kids really get into carving the pumpkins. I love holidays. Every holiday is more and more fun to celebrate because our kids get more and more excited and are starting to make memories of their own. Can't wait to see what the holiday season brings this year!

Did you make those potato head costumes? They're awesome. Maybe someday Kevin and I will dress up, but for now it's fun to dress the kids!
