Tyler's 2nd year of soccer has come and gone. It has been so much fun to watch the progression in Tyler. He started out his first year very apprehensive about playing. He didn't want to put on his cleats or uniform. And, during his first game, he hardly touched the ball. He was scared to get in on the action. We'd have to shout from the sidelines to remind him to go after the ball.
Now, after 2 years of playing, he is very aggressive and absolutely loves the sport. He is one of the only kids on his team that actually gets in and kicks the ball away from the other team. I'm pretty sure there has only been one game this entire season that he didn't score a goal in. We love watching him play!
After the last game of the season, the coach handed out trophies. Instead of just passing the trophies around, he had each kid climb up on a step ladder and said a few words about each player. Then we cheered for each child. It was a lot of fun! When it was Tyler's turn, the coach called him a "scoring machine". Very fitting. :)
Tyler is in love with his trophy. Every since he got it last week, he has been carrying it all around the house. The other night I even found it standing up on his pillow next to him while he slept. So cute.
