Our precious preemie, Amyah, is 9 months old and growing! She has been such a delight to have in our house. I've decided that probably the best thing about having a baby around is everyone's reaction to her. She brings out the best in everyone! When Kevin is having a bad day, I just hand her over, and he can't help but smile! The kids are never, ever mean to her. They sense her innocence and sweetness. They know she doesn't do anything to intentionally bother or hurt them, and they are so sweet and willingly helpful with her. They love to play with her and help out a ton!
This is where she stands at 9 months (really 9 1/2 at this point):
- 21.45 lbs (89th percentile)
- 28 inches (67th percentile)
- She is so big! Her 6-12 month clothes hardly stretch over her chubby and long body. She is mostly wearing 12-18 month stuff.
- She giggles when you least expect it. She can sometimes be a tough crowd, other times her giggles come quickly. The kids are always the best at getting her to laugh. Kevin's pretty good too.
- She is sitting really well.
- She loves her Jumperoo! Bouncing is probably her favorite physical activity. She loves bouncing her legs when we are holding her as well.
- Just today, she pulled her tummy off the floor into crawling position for maybe 5 seconds before falling. She repeated the action quite a few times. Definitely not crawling yet. I'm wondering if her mellow personality is going to hinder her crawling/walking...
- She rolls all over the place! It is definitely her form of movement. She can roll from one side of the room to the other.
- She has eaten baby food for a short period of time...now she swats at me and fusses when I try to feed her food from a jar. She really enjoys eating small, soft foods (she hasn't refused any table foods yet!).
- Our favorite face she makes we call her "squinchy face". It is so adorable. She crunches up her cute little nose, squints her eyes, and shows off her toothy smile. We try really hard to get this face from her.
- She popped 3 teeth through her gums all within a week or so. Her two front bottom teeth and her left top lateral incisor. She is growing a fang in! I love cute baby teeth smiles!
- She typically sleeps from 7pm to 7 am. She takes 2 naps during the day, averaging 2 hours each.
- Her eating schedule is becoming more like the rest of the family's schedule. She eats 3 meals a day and approximately 5 bottles (between 4-6 ounces each, 24 oz of formula total).
- She has been perfectly healthy since her surgery. No colds. Nothing!
We often find her leaning over in her booster and sucking on the countertop!

In effort to get a picture of her "squinchy face" all we ended up with was an itchy nose!

Kevin took this picture one night. Here's her chub in all its glory! Everyone thought her "splits" were hilarious!

So sweet! Check out her cute teeth!

Oh my goodness. She has gotten bigger and has a lot more hair (or maybe just darker?) since I last saw her!! I wish I was there to squeeze her cute chubbiness! I'm glad Tyler and Susie are so sweet to her, too. This post makes me miss you guys a lot! :)
She is such a cutie! I really cannot believe she is 9 months already!!! LOVE the pictures :) Gosh I miss you...
What a sweet face. I can't believe you have such a chubby babe! I love that second picture. What a fun personality. And I love the splits. Looks like a cheerleader move! xo
