Fourth of July and a "Family Reunion"

As soon as we returned home from The Farm, visitors began to arrive. Ryan and Brittney arrived on Wednesday evening (June 29th - our 9 year anniversary). Michelle, Jackson, and Bennett arrived on Thursday (June 30th). The rest of us all currently reside in the same house. We had a great, unofficial "family reunion" (without Uncle Marc).

Here are some of the most memorable moments from our "family reunion":

  • Tyler got strep throat! On the Sunday afternoon before the 4th of July, of course. He always gets it in the most inconvenient situations. Last time was the day before the last day of school. Luckily, we are very established patients at our ENT doctor's office. She was extremely helpful and called in a prescription.
  • Susie got strep throat...which proved Tyler really had it. I actually took her to the pediatricians and she tested positive.
  • Tyler got swimmer's ear too! Ear drops and no swimming kind of ruins all the fun that could be had in a pool with cousins. :(
  • Fourth of July Festivities: Aerial fireworks were legal this year. I think everyone loaded up on them, because we had a great firework show circling around us on the 4th as soon as the sky darkened.
  • Lots of swimming...
  • Jackson, Tyler, and Susie had sleepovers the last two nights of our time with him.
  • Shaved ice from Snoasis. Grandma left a dollar in each of the kids' shoes to use on a personal shaved ice.
All the kids sitting on the "Grandpa Chair"
Amyah would pretty much scream whenever someone tried to hold her...until Uncle Ryan started "flying" her around. She decided it was fun to be in someone else's arms and got a huge giggly, drooly grin on her face! Instead, she screamed when the "flying" was finished.
Aunt Rachael, Lynnlee, Aunt Brittney, and Amyah. Amyah just wants to smother Lynnlee with baby loves.

Our Fourth of July barbeque.
Our cute kids in their Old Navy Flag Shirts. :)
Susie and Jonathan's favorite game in the pool. Jonathan would set her up on the boogie board, then push her so hard and fast she would zoom across the entire pool.
Ummm...best shot of the swimming kiddos...

The engaged audience watching the firework show... notice Uncle Marc watching via Skype on the computer on Michelle's lap
Tyler nursing his swimmer's ear. He had to stay on the pool float for a few days.

Amyah was completely over stimulated with the water dripping on her head. :)
Susie learned how to back float without help to get into position. She was so excited, she put her thumbs up.
