A week after our move to Arizona, Susie's 5th birthday came. We had a great time celebrating her birthday with our little family.
She started the day by opening her gifts. Her big ticket item was a new Barbie bike! Since learning to ride her bike without training wheels, we've noticed how awkward it is for her to ride the little 12" bike. Her knees would pedal into her chest. A new bike seemed like the perfect gift. And it was!
We headed to Costco for a quick stop, then surprised Susie by stopping at McDonald's for lunch. The kids had a blast playing on the play structure (a nice, cool, air-conditioned break). We ate lunch and had hot fudge sundaes. Yum!
After a dinner of Homemade Macaroni and Cheese and a birthday treat of Homemade Milk Chocolate Ice Cream (ummm... ice cream melts super fast in Arizona!), we watched Rango with the kids.
We had a great time celebrating Susie's special day!

New Bike! Gotta love bed head...

Look how long her curls are! We cut a few inches off before school started.
Look how melted the ice cream is already!

Happy Birthday to Susie! My FAVORITE book growing up was Miss Suzy. A couple of years ago I searched around and found it was still in print. I hope Susie is loving kindergarten.
What a fun birthday! Is she really 5???? I hope you guys are enjoying your new home and adventures!
