With a possible move in the near future, I started panicking once July 4th passed and both Tyler and Susie had upcoming birthdays. Susie had never celebrated a birthday with friends, and I had been planning a "friend" party for her 5th birthday. I knew we could easily be moved to another state and without friends on her actual birthday.
I decided to throw a last minute joint birthday party. I'm so glad I did! It went really smoothly. By far the easiest, most enjoyable birthday party I've held for my kids. I think the small guest list with kids we knew really well made the difference. Kevin took care of Amyah during the party, and my great friend Holly (Isaac, Grace, & Danielle's mom) helped as well. It turned into a great Birthday party/"good-bye party". Here are the details:
Susie's Guests:
Grace & Danielle
Jacilyn & Katya
Tyler's Guests:
Isaac
Niklas
Connor
Games:
Musical Beach Towels
Water Balloon Toss
Lunch:
Corn Dogs
Grapes
Rainbow Goldfish
Blue Kool-Aid w/ Gummy Sharks
Birthday Treat:
Ice Cream Sundaes
Main Activity:
Swimming
Party Favors:
Beach Ball
Treat Bag w/ S'mores Goldfish, Swedish Fish, Gummy Sharks
The adorable decorations... paper lanterns, beach balls (the party favors) hanging from the patio, sign: "Welcome to Tyler and Susie's Beach!"
I wrote "Beach" with an arrow all the way up the driveway pointing the guests towards the backyard.
Musical Beach Towels
The Birthday Kiddos!
Swimming for the last half of the party... Love the color the beach balls add...
