Amyah has reached the 18 month milestone (as of Nov. 10th). Her personality is really starting to shine! Enjoy the pictures below as they help you visualize our fun, crazy, spunky Amyah.
Amyah started nursery at church. Her first week went flawlessly. The second week I had to stay in the room for the first hour. Since then, she's fussed for maybe half a minute when I drop her off, but I've been able to quickly sneak out of the room. I think nursery would go much more smoothly if the children were distracted with toys upon entering the room. This nursery, however, begins with the lesson. I hate to complain, because hey, I am leaving her in someone else's care for two hours. But, toys would make the drop off much more seamless. The nursery instructors are quickly understanding Amyah's independent, stubborn personality and try to stay out of her way!

Amyah is a thumb sucker. And she loves her blanket. It is a requirement for bedtime. We try to keep her blanket in her crib, because she doesn't put her thumb in her mouth unless her blanket is in her hand. However, she often pulls her blanket through the crib slats and we'll find her sucking on her cute little thumb. I was told that thumb suckers are often the happiest toddlers. Not sure if I believe it. It doesn't seem to dampen her screaming!
Amyah loves to eat. But only when she can feed herself. After raising two kids who hate tomatoes, we decided we better start feeding them to Amyah as soon as she was old enough to eat them. She loves them! Wish I had done the same with my older kids.
Amyah loves to try on shoes. She is constantly getting into our shoe closet. We find shoes dragged all around the house. And, she always has a different pair on.

Amyah wants to do the same things as her older brother and sister. Everything they do looks so much more exciting (and it truly is).

Amyah loves candy corn. She also hates baths presently. She usually takes a shower with me in the morning. The other night, however, Kevin bribed her into the bath with candy corns. :)

Amyah is a funny kid! Just this morning she was babbling and laughing about something. Kevin said, I bet that was something really funny that you just said. I think he was right. When she is able to communicate more than 10 words, I think she will be a silly little girl.

Although she is a crazy, stubborn toddler, we love Amyah so much! I think if she was our first child, she might not scream as much as she does. It is truly just her way of getting our attention. There is too much going on in the house with the older kids. She's discovered the best way to get us to notice her quickly is by screaming.
Words Amyah says:
Thank you (teen doo)
Susie (she actually says Susie perfectly in a very high voice)
Tyler (Dy Do)
Dad (Da!)
What's that? (wuz za?)
Excuse Me (soo see - pretty much sounds like "Susie")
Words Amyah signs:
Please
More
All Done
Hi/Bye
Amyah is also learning her animal sounds and body parts. It is a lot of fun to watch her learn and remember!
