We put our Christmas tree up the Sunday after Thanksgiving and decorated our tree for Family Home Evening on Monday night. We lived in Kevin's parent's basement for 3 Christmases. It was a lot of fun to put up our tree again. The last few years we've only used a miniature tree and put on our most special ornaments. We've actually acquired quite a few ornaments since we last put up our Christmas tree. Kevin's parents even donated their old star to us. I love it! It is silver and sparkly, 3-dimensional, and lights up!
This year I have also been trying to add a few more decorative touches to our tree (on a budget, of course). I've purchased burgundy wood bead garland and a bunch of gold stars. I've decided to wait until after Christmas to look for more star ornaments when they go on sale (Pier 1 has a great selection). I've decided to make *STARS* the theme of our Christmas tree. It seems simple and easy to add to little by little as I find star ornaments on sale over the next few years. All I have left is to make a tree skirt. Right now we are just using an old red sheet wrapped around the bottom. I'm considering using the fabric from the sheet and sewing it into either a ruffed or maybe quilted tree skirt.
Amyah has really become interested in reading books lately. Her absolute favorite Christmas book is Snowmen at Christmas. She moves all the other books off the stack to find it.

Me and Alyssa. :)

Amyah and her favorite ornament. She always find it on the tree and takes it off. We gave up very quickly on that ornament. I just let her play with it now. At least it isn't breakable--it is a stuffed kitten.
