New York in 48 hours...

We began our trip to New York by waking up at 4:15am on Easter morning. At 5:30am we pulled the kids out of bed to head for the airport. We hoped they would both keep sleeping...but neither child cooperated. Tyler was sleeping, but as soon as Kevin put him in the car seat, he looked up at us with a big grin on his face. He thought it was fun to leave in the dark!

Susie and I left for New York and arrived just in time to eat dinner with my grandpa, dad, sister, Megan, and Robby and Maureen (my dad's cousin and his wife). Susie somehow mangaged to survive the plane ride without screaming even though she was living off of only 15 minutes of a nap. Then, she was a really good baby at the restaurant. She had a lot of fun with the paper table cloth!

Susie actually let Grandma Megan hold her for a bit after waking up from a nap. This is a rare, but cherished moment.

On Monday morning, friends of my grandparents (Angela and Mario) invited us over for breakfast. They call their house the "Christmas House"! It was pretty crazy and cooky with Christmas decorations that stay up year round!
Although Susie looks like she is sleeping, she really isn't. For some reason (well...probably the fact that she was really, really tired during our trip) she kept laying like this on my lap.

With only minutes to spare before the taxi would arrive to take us back to the airport, Susie fell asleep and Grandpa Al had a chance to hold her. He really enjoyed holding his Great Granddaughter.

This isn't the end of the story...
After a very long and tiring plane ride (Susie finally slept for about an hour near the end), I called Kevin when the plane arrived. He, however, hadn't left our house yet because our car had broken down on the way to the airport. After getting it back to our friend's house and moving all the car seats to our other car, Kevin and an already snoozing Tyler left for the airport. We finally arrived home around midnight (after a quick stop at In-N-Out!).
We are so glad to be back home!

Wow! Amy what a trip for the two of you. Hope you have had a little time to relax after a whirlwind trip. Susie looks so cute in pink. Sounds like a fun time with family!
