On Friday night we were invited to a birthday party, and we left early (I wasn't feeling well). Unfortunately, just as we were leaving the party, they pulled out the birthday cake. Tyler was already upset about leaving, so the fact that he couldn't take part in the cake was just enough to cause a full-on tantrum. I quickly remedied the situation by asking him if he would like to make a cake the next day. This seemed to help, but then he requested a Lightening McQueen birthday cake (a repeat from his party). I told him okay, we could use the pan. I was just planning on baking the cake in the pan, then frosting it all in one color. But, he started asking if we could make all the colors for it. And, could he eat the eyes? Or maybe the wheels? This kid has too sharp of a memory! I started panicking. That Lightening McQueen cake took me many hours to create. Just mixing the frosting into different colors took well over an hour...almost pushing two. Kevin suggested we make a ball cake with our ball pans. I thought this was a good solution, and Tyler was ecstatic. I thought it would be much simpler than Lightening McQueen. And, it was simpler, but not easy enough! It still took me about an hour to frost the cake! It was very difficult to frost all the different angles of the baseball. And it turned out lopsided! Had I not been in such a hurry, maybe it would have turned out better. Oh well, the kids loved it! And it was a great way to pass a couple of hours of time!

Way to go Amy! That takes some serious motivation to make a cake and frost it! You are such an awesome MOM! I'm impressed.
