Tyler's 4th Birthday

Tyler's 4th Birthday was amazing! I spent the entire week preparing for his special day. Because of our current living conditions, we have lots of family around to have a "family party". But, Tyler is often without friends, so I decided I should throw him a party during the day so he could have fun with some other kids. Having two parties meant we needed two different cakes. The theme of the day time party was Thomas the Tank Engine. The cake decorating book I own had an awesome idea for a train cake, so I shaped his cake into a train. The theme of our evening "family party" was Super Why. I created a Super Why head and an Alpha Pig head. Then, I made capes and masks for the three cousins.

To start the day off, we let Tyler open all his presents immediately following breakfast. After we were all dressed, we headed to the grocery store to buy some birthday balloons. The day time birthday party started at 1:30. We were amazed at the turn-out, and Tyler received very nice gifts from his friends. We ate pizza for dinner that night, persuaded the kids to run around in their Super Why costumes (we needed some fun pictures), and then we blew out candles all over again on the Super Why cakes.

The day was soooo exhausting, but well worth my effort. Tyler had a great time!

Hi Amy,

The cakes look amazing! and I love the cape & masks for the children. What a great photo of Susie doing the leap in the air!
What great fun everyone must have had - you are a great Mom, Amy.
