In celebration of Pioneer Day (July 24th), we decided to take a picnic dinner up the canyon and enjoy an evening in the great outdoors. Pioneer Day is a state holiday in Utah that commemorates the arrival of the first pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley.
The weather was fantastic up there (a shocking 20 degrees cooler than in the valley), the food was great, and the kids had an amazing time running around and the favorite activity, by far, was throwing rocks into the river.
