We've Been Sick...

So far I have managed to remain healthy (which is a miracle since I am the one nursing everyone else back to health). Last Thursday Kevin came home from school at noon, fell asleep on the bed, and basically stayed there through yesterday morning--he had to wake up to go to school. And, lucky for him, he started to feel somewhat better just in time. He had probably the worst cold he's had since I've known him. I'm actually thinking it was the flu.

To make matters worse, Tyler threw up at school last Thursday and did so two more times at home later that night. By the next day he was mostly back to normal, just really tired and felt a little funny. Me and Susie really tried to avoid the boys like the plague all weekend long. I actually thought Susie made it through without catching Tyler's stomach bug. Until last night. When we were getting ready for bed she told me she needed to throw up, she waited patiently for me to get a bucket ready with a garbage bag in it (we had been standing at the toilet without any success and I got impatient). While we were reading our bedtime story she made good use of the bucket. She also woke up once in the middle of the night covered in vomit. She hasn't thrown up since and appears to be on the road to recovery.

I have been washing everyone's hands like crazy, spraying Lysol all over our bathroom, doorknobs, and light switches, and replacing hand towels constantly--and we each have our own to use. I have been drinking Airborne 4 times a day and sucking on Cold-Eeze (zinc). So far my efforts have appeared to work. As long as nobody else comes down with anything else I will feel that my efforts were worthwhile. Kevin has 2 tests at the end of this week, so he now needs to focus on studying. If anyone gets the sickness he had (especially me), or if he gets the stomach bug, then we will all be out of luck. He can't lose anymore time being sick or taking care of other sick people. Let's just hope this is the end of it all.

Ahh not fun. Vomit in bed...eekkk!! My husband and Mylee have been sick. Mylee still has fever and threw up on me Sunday night. It sounds like it has been a little worse over there. Hopefully everyone is better now!

We hope you sail thru this without getting sick Amy - or should we call you Nurse Amy!

We haven't been sick, but I know you will laugh (or cringe) when I tell you that the other night Cinder, who had her rabies shot earlier that day, threw up in the bed, under the covers, and your Dad rolled over into it!! It was not a fun night -

Say Hi to everyone for us, we miss you guys.
Love,
Megan

Mom's really shouldn't ever get sick, because it really is just not fair, so I hope you are able to keep avoiding this one and stay healthy! I hope that you guys all get better soon. We miss you and wish you could come visit again!
