Happy 3rd Birthday Susie!

We celebrated Susie's 3rd birthday Strawberry Shortcake style. I couldn't resist buying the super cute Strawberry Shortcake hat for the birthday girl. We had so much family around--15 guests in all (including Grandpa Mark, Grandma Janae, Rachael, Ryan, Brittney, Alyssa, Grandpa Al, Grace, Grandpa Les, Grandma Dena, and Aunt Bev). We decorated the back porch with pink, red, and white streamers and balloons and set up tables to eat dinner at. I served French Dip sandwiches, fruit salad, and chips to the guests. Susie loves French Dip sandwiches, and she gobbled her entire dinner right up.

I created a pink strawberry cake for her birthday. My favorite part of the cake was the leaves. They turned out really cool. I took leaves off the rose bushes outside, washed them (really well with soap), and painted the back side with green meltable candies (the kind you buy at a craft store). I stuck the leaves in the freezer for about 10 minutes, then peeled the leaves off. They peeled off very easily, and turned out great.

For her birthday, she received a Tinkerbell beach towel, some new clothes, a cookie baking set for her kitchen, a cash register, a doctor's kit, and some little princess dolls. Very fun. She had a great day!

What a cute idea for Suzie's cake and party theme. I am impressed with your creative ideas... and ingenuity (with the leaves). Miss you Amy.
