I've never been a part of a babysitting swap before. Mostly, I'm just scared of it. Also, it doesn't really work when we are living in my in-laws' basement. Up until recently, we've only invited over Tyler's friends. I've decided boys are definitely too crazy for our living situation. Especially during the winter when we have to stay indoors. However, I'm required to volunteer 40 hours during the school year at Tyler's school--it's a charter school. In order to make this work, I've started swapping babysitting with a friend down the street. Her little girl comes over Wednesday mornings and Susie goes to their house Thursday afternoons while I volunteer in Tyler's classroom. It has actually been a piece of cake. Shelby (who is standing in the middle of the picture above) is quite the tomboy and probably gets along with Tyler better. But, she is Susie's age exactly--just much taller. We try to persuade her to put a princess dress on every time she comes over. This was the first time she had one on long enough for me to snap a photo. The kids all get along well, and I never have to entertain them while she is here. Every once in a while, things get a little wild, but for the most part, they are all great! Little girls are much easier to babysit than little boys...at least this little girl.
