Crazy Hair Day

A couple weeks ago, Tyler got to take part in his first Spirit Week at school. The only day he didn't participate was on "Crazy Hat Day". We found him a super fun Goofy hat that Kevin wore as a kid. We thought Tyler was excited about it. But, at the last minute, he chickened out. Just as I was pulling up to drop him off in front of the school, he tore the hat off and said, "I don't want to wear this hat." He shoved it into his backpack and seemed okay with being a non-participant. Even when I picked him up, he seemed okay about it. However, later that night, I found him in his room crying after Susie was already asleep. It turned out he was really upset he hadn't worn a hat. Well, Kevin being the genius he actually can be sometimes, pulled out the ice cream and gave Tyler a bowl full with chocolate syrup. I guess ice cream solves my problems sometimes. It only makes sense that it could solve a crisis of a 5 year old.
