Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to me! We shared the evening with Kevin's parents, Craig, Ryan, and Brittney. Dinner was super yummy--steak, baked potatoes, corn, bread, and salad. Dessert was one of my faves--pound cake with whipped cream and berries. Delish! Everything about the day was really so nice. I woke up at my normal 7am on Sundays to get ready for church in time. I usually bug Kevin and tell him the night before that he needs to make sure he gets up and helps out (because it is my special day, after all), but this year I decided to not worry about it. Much to my surprise, while I was showering, the kids had woken up, made their beds, made my bed :), and Kevin had fixed them breakfast. We were basically ready for church an hour early.

In Sacrament meeting, the kids and Kevin performed Love is Spoken Here with the primary and other moms and dads. It sounded beautiful. The kids performed it later at home, and we videoed it. It will be posted below.

The kids worked really hard for the majority of the day on some beautiful cards for me and Janae. And, Tyler gave me his gift he made at school. He told me, "It's not very exciting, Mom." You think he listens to all of us adults too much when it comes to gift giving? The gift was magnets made out of transparent, colored rocks and scrapbook paper adhered to the back. I love them! We have a board in our room that says Tyler and Susie's Artwork. I display their best pictures on the board with magnets, so really it's the perfect gift.

So, that basically covers the best parts of the day. Now for the not so good parts...

Once again, I was up Saturday night and now Sunday night with contractions. My contractions subsided yesterday just before church was starting. Off and on throughout the day, they would come back. By bedtime, they were gone. I thought I might actually get a good night sleep. Wrong! I was woken up at 2:30 by a really hard contraction. I didn't go to sleep until after midnight. And, I haven't gone back to sleep since being woken at 2:30. The contractions have been really hard, but just not consistent--anywhere from 3 to 8 minutes apart. I'm hoping today is the day. May 10th seems like a great day for a birthday. And, tomorrow is the 37 week mark. Today would be perfect. Cross your fingers for me!
