June 12, 2010
Jonathan joined the family on Saturday, June 12th, probably the rainiest day in June. :( We stressed about the weather all week long, and of course, it didn't fail us. It rained off and on during the day. Unfortunately, the rainiest part of the day was when Rachael and Jonathan came out of the temple and also during pictures outside. It will definitely be a memory we will never forget. I did not snap a single photo of the gorgeous bride with my camera. We had a 5 week old baby with us. And, we were trying to protect everyone from the rain. It all felt very hectic. The only moment when things started to calm down was in between pictures and the reception. Rachael and Jonathan were off taking pictures while we hung out in the reception hall. I finally had a moment to take some photos of our cute kids in their wedding clothes. I made headbands for both our girls. And, I embellished Amyah's all black outfit with flowers and beads. Of course, I forgot to take a picture of Amyah in her outfit. Oops! It really was a hectic day.
A dance floor was set up for the reception, so the kids got their groove on while we waited for the reception to begin. Thank goodness for that dance floor! It was a life saver before and during the reception. As of lately, I haven't been a huge fan of dancing at receptions. But, it was a great way for the kids to get their wiggles out. We taught the kids how to slow dance prior to the reception, so they were absolutely adorable during the slow songs. We even taught them, "Can I cut in please?" And, during the fast songs, they were huge show-offs! Susie would go and join any group and start dancing. They really had a blast!
It was so much fun to share this special day with Rachael and Jonathan! Congratulations!
