Ouch!

So we had a little accident last Saturday. The kids were goofing around in the game room. Susie bonked her cute little chin on the ping pong table. And, this was the result...


The picture doesn't show how awful the wound really looked. Just follow the red line about three-quarters of the way around a circle. That is the flappy chunk she bit through. It bled quite a bit. It has healed really well. She was bothered for a day or so. We've had to be careful about the foods she eats. Other than that, she's been pretty tough about it. She actually ate oranges tonight, so that tells me her tongue is better.

An hour or so after the incident, I found Susie drawing a picture. This is what she created:


Notice the wide open mouth, the tongue, and the little dot (almost invisible) on the tongue is her wound. Now look to the left of her picture. She drew a close up of her tongue just in case we couldn't see the "owie" on the original picture.

What a funny girl! She is always creating beautiful drawings and paintings. I love this picture because it was almost like she was expressing her pain through the drawing.

Now that Susie is healed, we are on to bigger and better ailments. Amyah was sick with a stomach bug a couple days ago. She threw up all over her crib, and the wall, and the floor a couple times. She's finally better. However, Tyler just crawled into bed early with a fever tonight. We'll see what the next few days bring...
