Finally Walking!

15 1/2 months... and finally walking! I cannot believe it took Amyah so long to take her first steps! It is such a relief to reach this milestone.

However, our Sweet Baby Amyah has certainly become our feistiest toddler! With each bit of independence she has gained, the crazier and more determined she is get her way. She is fired up with the desire for freedom! Ahhhh! I'm patiently waiting for her sweetness to return. She still has lots of sweet moments. However, I'd have to say the screaming, swatting, and tantrums far outweigh the sweet moments currently. I'm pretty sure the huge molars cutting through her gums aren't helping the situation either.

Some of the things Amyah is currently doing (at 16 1/2 months):

• She waves to all babies and says "hi"! If you didn't know her, you'd think she was a very social baby. I don't think that is the case, but I guess we'll find out when she starts nursery in less than 2 months (not counting or anything...).
• She can sign please, more, and fan. But she only likes to sign fan. Instead of signing please or more when she wants some milk or more food, she just screams! It makes mealtime very pleasant. :)
• She "woofs" whenever she sees any animal.
• She gives kisses.
• She does a somersault halfway, then stops and stares at everyone upside down.
• She still can't drink a sippy cup sitting up! She has to lay down! She has to use a straw cup when she is sitting.
• She is starting to use a fork at mealtime. Her first try was just the other day, and I was surprised at how well she did!
• She is walking nonstop! She gets into everything! Cleaning up after her is extremely exhausting.
  

Although she is a bit difficult right now, I couldn't imagine our life without her! She brings a lot of spunk and sweetness into our home. It is fun to watch another child grow and to see her personality develop.
