Soccer Superstar

Fall is here, which means another season of soccer has begun. (Yes it is actually Fall in Arizona. It doesn't feel like it most of the time. Apparently the leaves don't change color until February, and when they do, they all fall off at once. But, we've had an amazing few days of 70-80 degree high temps and lows in the 50s. Beautiful! We've been going without AC and opening our windows.)

Soccer this year is a bit more intense than we are used to. Two, one hour long practices plus game day on Saturday makes for quite a bit of time and commitment. Tyler's team has not been the dominating team. Up until yesterday, they have lost every single game. By a lot. Tyler is the best player on the team, and usually the only one on the team to score. But it has been a consistent ONE goal per game (the only goal per game). Tyler is a good player, but just doesn't make too many goals. It's usually ONE and DONE.

Well, yesterday was a different story. We had a double header. Tyler had a fire ignite inside of him. He scored NINE goals during the two games. They won both games!

I asked him why he decided to score so many goals this week. He said he really wanted to win. I guess his ONE goal was not enough! We had a great time watching him excel in a sport he loves. Let's just hope he keeps that fire ignited and decides to keep scoring and winning!
