White Coat Ceremony

October 5, 2012

Kevin's parents drove down from Utah and the kids took the day off from school to attend Kevin's White Coat Ceremony. The ceremony had a few quick speeches at the beginning. Then we sat through about 1 1/2 hours of name after name being called. The ceremony included all the students from each department--about 800 people receiving their white coats! To fit 800 names into 1 1/2 hours required the name callers to speed through the names! And, the students had their white coats ready and arms partially inside to help speed the program along.

The students sat in the first 10 rows (approximately) of chairs in the audience. The medical students were split in half, and because of where our last name falls in the alphabet, Kevin was in the last row. We sat immediately behind him! It was fun to have him with us during the ceremony!

After pictures and refreshments outside, we headed over to Island's Restaurant. Yummy! :) Bottomless onion rings and delicious burgers!
