Easter

March 31, 2013

This was the first Easter that has fallen on March 31st since we were engaged 12 years ago! Kind of fun to reminisce...

I hadn't put my porcelain Easter figurines out in so long.  I love these!  My mom used to put one of these in my Easter basket each year.  They make great Easter decorations.  It's so fun to share these with my kids.  And they bring back lots of memories of the Easters from my childhood.

This was the first year we involved Amyah in our egg dying.  It went much better than I expected.  It was also a first for me to fill plastic cups with dye.  I was a bit nervous the cups would be tipsy.  But they weren't.  And it worked really well for Amyah's un-delicate technique.  When she dropped the eggs into the cups, they softly clinked against the plastic.  It also made cleanup a snap.

I bought food-coloring markers to decorate the eggs with.  They were a bit difficult to work with because any moisture on the eggs made the markers smear.

Easter morning... dresses for the girls (and turquoise Salt Water Sandals).

A basketball and flip-flops for Tyler.

And new swimsuits for the girls too.

All ready for church.

I love my kiddos!

We invited some friends over for Easter dinner--Chris and Jeni and their kids Kelsi, Taylor, and Kamiren and Jarin and Nancy and their kids Mckade, Izzy, and Cy.  We set up tables and ate in the backyard.  The weather was gorgeous!  Absolutely perfect (other than a little too much breeze).  We really had a fun time with our friends.  The kids played well together.  And it was fun to hang out with good friends and eat a yummy Easter dinner.

The little girl table.

The big kid table.
