Make that rolling up the money! Kevin, on a whim, pulled out all our change a few nights ago and started counting it. Our entire living room floor was covered in piles of change. After a few hours of counting, we couldn't stand the thought of putting it back in to all the various places where we had been storing it. And, we most definitely didn't want to gather it up and dump it into a Coinstar machine that would deduct 10% of our savings. So, we made a quick run to Walmart, bought some money wraps, and started rolling. In total, we have $135.00 in change! Wahoo!
I have never participated in rolling money. But, it wasn't as miserable as I had always assumed. It was actually pretty fun. Especially when we discovered we had a lot more change than we had realized. If you have a bunch of change laying around, you should do it too! You just might have more than you think. :)
BTW, I found out a couple days later, our bank (Wells Fargo) will give you money wraps at no cost. Of course, this didn't work for us at the time because all the change was laying out on the floor just waiting to be mixed up by our kids when they woke up in the morning. We had to take care of it that night.
